Kitchen Water Damage Repair

The Problem

A leak beneath the kitchen floor had caused water damage to the laminate flooring, affecting both its appearance and condition. The moisture had resulted in sections of the laminate beginning to lift, creating an uneven surface and leaving the flooring looking worn and damaged. The water damage had also spread to sections of the skirting boards and the back doorstep, meaning several areas of the kitchen required attention. To prevent the damage from worsening and to restore the space to a suitable condition, the affected areas needed to be assessed and repaired.

Our Inspection

Our team attended the property to assess the extent of the damage and identify the areas requiring repair. During the inspection, the flooring was found to be wet and visibly lifting as a result of the leak beneath the floor. The moisture had affected the laminate, compromising its appearance and leaving parts of the surface uneven. We also identified damage to sections of the skirting boards and the back doorstep, which had been affected by the water. Following our assessment, we determined which areas needed to be removed, repaired or replaced to help restore the kitchen and ensure a neat, consistent finish throughout the affected space.

The Repair

The damaged laminate flooring was carefully removed to allow the affected areas to be properly prepared for replacement. This helped clear away the damaged material and create a suitable base for the new flooring to be fitted. We also addressed the damaged sections of the skirting boards, ensuring that these areas could be restored to complement the surrounding finishes. In addition, the affected section of the back doorstep was repaired to improve its overall condition and appearance. Throughout the process, care was taken to ensure the necessary work was completed neatly and that the repaired areas blended in with the existing features of the property. These repairs helped bring the kitchen and surrounding areas back to a clean, practical and presentable condition.

The Result

Once the repairs were completed, the damaged areas had been restored, leaving the kitchen in a clean and finished condition. The replacement laminate flooring improved the overall appearance of the room, while the work to the skirting boards and back doorstep helped create a more consistent finish throughout the affected areas. The visible effects of the water damage were addressed, removing the uneven and lifting sections that had previously affected the flooring. By carrying out the necessary repairs, we helped return the kitchen to a more comfortable and presentable space for the customer to enjoy. The completed work provided a refreshed finish and restored the appearance of the affected areas following the damage caused by the leak.
